1. pick up notebooks - remind students how important it is to stay organized ---- why? sem 1 exam
2. pass back tests - go over the most missed ?'s give students time to check answers and ask ?'s
If you received a 27/45 (reg/mod w hints) 21/35 ([M] mod/shortened) or 18/29 ([E] mod/ell) - you are required to complete TEST remediation. This will earn you 1/4 test point back for each problem and can take you from a middle ground failing grade to a C:
On a separate sheet of notebook paper you need to
a. write the question
b. write your original answer
c. identify what you did incorrectly
d. how to solve the problem correctly
e. write the correct answer.
Ex: 21. A cyclist leaves home and rides due east for a distance of 45 km. She returns home on the same bike path due west. If the entire trip takes 4 hours, what is her average speed?
a. 11.25 hr/km b. 180 km/hr c. 22.5 km/hr d. 360 hr/km
I chose letter A because I took the distance 45 km and divided it by 4 hours and got 11.25 km/hr. The first thing I did wrong was choose an answer whose units did not make sense. Secondly, I did not account for the entire motion of the cyclist. It said she left home and she rode east 45 km and then returned home on the same path due west -- that means her total distance was 90 km, 90km/4hr = 22.5 km/hr.
3. pass out velocity: from a position vs time graph
work on classwork if you did not make it through 2 pages during class this is your homework!!!!!!!!!
tues sept 30
1. take 15 minutes to complete velocity: from a position verse time graph
2. go over velocity: from a position verse time graph
3. complete a few example problems together
reading outline - 11.3 acceleration ---- due monday
read section 11.3 and complete acceleration reading outline
2. pass back tests - go over the most missed ?'s give students time to check answers and ask ?'s
